I'm trying to catch up with the Now We're Rockin' Course I took last year but never completed all the lessons at the time. I've finally finished this 2 page layout:

I was pretty exciting about finishing the body of this cardigan and working on the sleeves. However, along the way, something odd happened with the pattern. Basically the pattern called for 7 rows of garter stitch, followed by 6 repeats of 10 rows (an increase row with 9 st st rows) for a total of 67 rows. At the gauge specified (4"=28 rows, 1"=7 rows) this should have meant that the length would be 9 1/2 inches before doing the armhole shaping.

Instead, the pattern said to carry on straight until the whole piece measured 8". Hey, wait a minute 8" was several rows ago. What was going on? I posted to Ravelry.com and it was suggested to just start the armhole shaping at this point which I did and completed the sleeve. But it turned way too long and was tight because the increases were done too high up the sleeve.

So I am frogging it and reknitting at the same time. I have decided to reduce the 10 row repeat to just 8 rows, this will give me the same amount of stitches overall, with increases occurring earlier (making the sleeve wider sooner) and reducing the sleeve by 12 rows (approximately 1 1/2 inches). I am hoping this will do the trick and will post once the sleeves (or at least one of them is inset).

While C is at the hospital today getting his first radiation and chemo treatments, I had to pick up J from the daycare with this vomiting/diarrhea flu that's going around. K already had it Friday night and nobody was sick for the last 3 days so I thought we were doing ok.

So much for trying to keep our house germ free while C's immunity is low! I might have to leave C at the hospital for a few extra days :)

BTW, it should be noted that when K was sick I was on my own (C was in Vancouver getting a PET scan) and obviously today I'm on my own. My hubby has impeccable timing.

I already posted about my latest knitting project the Hexacomb Cardigan from Spring 2008 Interweave Knits. Well here is a photo of my progress so far.

The bottom section is knitted on a circular needle, so the two fronts and back are done at the same time (no seam) up until the armhole. At that point the work is divided into three section (two fronts, and back) and knitted separately.

From the photo you can see that the fronts are complete so now I am working on the back section. After that the arms and neck/front edges need to be completed. I've got plenty of yarn remaining as you can see.

So I've been selling some of my photos on iStockphoto.com for about 1 year now. I have 15 photos uploaded, some uploaded as recently as December. To date I have made 28 sales varying in price but the highest price paid was $1.20. The current grand total is $19.78. Certainly not a way to get rich quick! However, these photos would be sitting on my hard drive doing nothing so they may as well be earning me some money ('com on, it's probably more than the interest the bank pays on my account in a year!).

I received the first issue of my subscription to Interweave Knits (Spring 2008) a little while ago and have been browsing through it. There aren't too many patterns to get excited about when you are pregnant, but I thought that this one might be the perfect cardigan to wear over the "bump".

I am knitting it in pale blue (Seasalt) Bernat Soy yarn all one color and am on the second ball of the 8 ball project (12.5% complete). I'll post some pics of the actual project when I get a chance.

C's first chemo session has been scheduled for next Tuesday (11th) with his the first of his daily radiation treatments (out of 35) to begin the same day.
